The Listen Bus
A dedicated Listen Bus on the Project Page provides a separate audio feed to the control room monitors or headphones, independently from the Main Out Channel. The Listen Bus is ideally suited to room calibration plug-ins running as a Listen Bus insert. This will allow a session engineer to hear the benefits of room correction software while keeping the Main Output unaffected—processing that occurs in the Listen Bus is not rendered to any Digital Release or burned CD.
To access and use the Listen Bus, Select Listen Bus to the right of the Master Device Rack. Underneath the Post Rack, you’ll need to choose an Output, as the Listen Bus has no Output selected by default. Options here will vary depending on the capabilities of your connected interface. The Listen Bus receives the output signal of the Master Output; any adjustments to the Master Fader will affect the audio sent to the Listen Bus.
The Listen Bus enjoys a nearly identical feature set of the Master Bus, including its own Volume Fader, Macro controls, Stereo/Mono toggle, and Insert- and Post-effect Racks. Effects running on the Listen Bus cannot be automated.
The Listen Bus is also featured in the Song Page and is detailed here.
